Recording
Basic Operation Procedure of Sony FDR-AX1/AX1E
Basic recording can be performed with the following procedures.

  1. Make sure that the necessary devices are attached to the camcorder and power is supplied to them.
  2. Load the memory card(s). If you load two cards, recording is continued by automatically  switching to the second card when the first card becomes full.
  3. Open the shutter of the lens hood with lens cover.
  4. Slide the POWER switch to ON while pressing the green button. The recording screen is displayed on the LCD/viewfinder screen.
  5. Press the record button (page 14). The recording lamp lights and recording begins.
  6. To stop recording, press the record button again. Recording stops and the camcorder enters STBY (recording standby) mode.



How to Sony FDR-AX1/AX1E Focusing Manually 

For focusing manually

  • It is easier to focus on the subject when you use the zoom function. Move the power zoom lever towards T (telephoto) and adjust the focus, then, towards W (wide angle) to adjust the zoom for recording.
  • When you want to record a close-up image of a subject, move the power zoom lever towards W (wide angle) to fully magnify the image, then adjust the focus.
